Jackhammer sound from speakers

Thats the best way I can describe it. Ive set the gains with a DMM, ive turned the gain all the way down, and everywhere in between and after about 5 secs of normal playing my speakers just start with a very loud deep buzzing almost jackhammer noise thats far louder than the music. Its Rainbow SLC's with a PG x100.2, and im not sure where to go from here. Its not like a alt whine or whining noise either, its like a loud annoying deep almost constant bass note noise. Any help is greatly appreciated! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Could somebody please explain the reason for such a high x-over setting in this situation? Why would you need to have such a high-pass on speakers that are rated to play down to 50Hz? Thanks

because playing that low is completely dependant on the installation

and most people downplay the importance of proper door speaker installation

but think about playing a subwoofer with no box, or a crappy box, the thing just self-destructs. It doesn't matter if it's rated to play 2000w rms down to 18hz, if you fire up 2000w @ 18hz with a crappy box, or in a ported box without a subsonic filter, you can kiss your sub's *** goodbye

the same thing happens with door speakers

Ok thanks. I figured it had to do with the install. I've heard people are really happy with the mid-bass on these speakers. that's what had me confused. Thanks again.
