Well then I would work on a better box design, not just going from slot port to aeros. If you want higher numbers you can try a bandpass possibly? Also play around and find the frequency your car peaks at and then tune your box to peak there. Resonance frequency can be your friend. I mean more power to you if you want to try aeros, but at most I think they will just save you space, and with an explorer you have plenty of space to work with.

i use carstereo.com's port calculator personally. works like a charm if I ever need it. Now since you wanna get loud but are still more of a streetbeat vehicle I'd say do either 4 or 6 4" aeros running along the bottom facing the rear of your truck and the subs facing up. Personally I'd do 6 aeros but to each their own. They can become quite expensive so if you only wanted to do 4, do four. And yes put them inside the box. That outside the box shit looks silly for daily drivers.

Yeah penn i didn't think bandpass would work for 2 15s. and as my vechile freq. it's 43to44hz i had mike ss audio help me find it out at the comp in taylor michigan:).

werd, 4th order or 6th order bandpass would rock. Even though you'd have to use a smaller driver(s) cause a bandpass for 2 15's would not logically fit in your vehicle
werd. I know a guy with a 6th order I believe with a single 18 and it is taking up the entire rear of his truck which is setup like a walk through. But a bandpass would get the numbers up. Also like I said, play around with some tones. See if someone has a TL or if a shop will let you play around with theirs for free or a small fee.

captain cheesy i wish place by me had a tl no one does:(. But my truck peaks around 43 to 44hz mike aka ss audio helped me find it out at the comp in taylor mi 2 weeks i think it was ago was one sat though b4 lol.
