It's your choice to buy from wherever you want.

I just wanted to go on a little rant here so bear with me.

The internet is not the end all be all of car audio resellers.

Just because (some of) you buy most of your equipment off the internet, does not mean that that's a viable reason to think that everyone should go this route.

Some choose to buy from other sources and should not be persuaded to go the same route as you simply because you feel that's the best or cheapest way.

There are all sorts of factors that can sometimes go into making car audio purchases. Not everyone has a hang up about the price that they are paying for

what they want. Just because I choose to buy from a local shop doesnt mean that I'm getting ripped off. Yes sure I could probably find what I want alot cheaper on the net than I can from another source, but for me price is not always

a deal maker or breaker and that should be fine with anyone because that is my choice.

I have noticeced that when noobs come here and inform you guys of what they are planning to buy from a source other than the net, they more often than not are steered away from what it is they want to do solely based on price.

This should not be the case as what is expensive for you may not be to them, and some would rather buy from a local shop for whatever reasons they may have, but that doesnt mean they are going to get ripped of.

Paying MSRP does not mean you're getting ripped off, just as buying off ebay doesnt guaranty you a better product because it's cheaper.

well, thanks for that rant, but please remember 95% or more of the people buying things and searching for advice are on a budget, and money is a conisderation for them, so saving valuable dollars on one thing or another that could be better spent somewhere else is obviously a good thing.

that's nice, would you like an award or a statue in your honor? notice a lot of these threads also ask where these products can be had cheap? i'm gonna guess you own a shop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

good for you?

EDIT most people don't like going to shops, becuase they don't have any shops around them that aren't employed by little bastards that have no idea what they are talking about and the consumer doesn't want to have to teach them or be "put down" for their lack of knowledge since people in shops who don't know anything think they know everything. could just be me though.

While I dont think I would have actually opened a thread to state this, I do agree with your opinion. You might be able to get something cheaper online, but things like after service sale GENERALLY cannot be had as easy from your standard E-tailor as opposed to a local shop, so people need to weight their options and figure out what is most important to them.

I'll take that statue. And I dont own a shop, and dont know anyone that does!

that's funny cuz customer service is why i stay away from shops here.

A friend called me and asked some car audio ?'s I could not answer, so I informed him of this site. Next time I heard from him he said he was told by someone on here to go to ebay which he did, but when he got his amp he was less than happy. He had originally wanted to go to this local shop that he heard good things about but was swayed into making a choice he now regrets. And yes it's partly his fault.

"partly" his fault lol. try 100% split between him and the seller if...

item was less then described? then file a complaint.

Or was it that he simply didn't know what he was looking for and bought shotty equipment?

Ebay is great for finding something your looking for, or know about. Not for shopping for things you know nothing about.
