A lot of places that take checks still, actually run the check right then and it tells them if it will go thru or not. Almost like a debt card. I know at the targets down here they just give you the check back after they run it.

LOL my grandma (she is 90!) was ready tho throw down at the grocery store when they handed her check back! She just could not grasp the idea they didnt need the paper copy! Im convinced people that use checks at grocery stores and such, really dont have the money and are just bouncing checks left and right.

Only real downfall to not using checks anymore is not being able to put smart *** remarks in the memo section :/

Im from Kansas, smoke crack, (well meth cause we cant get the real shit), and I write checks for everything, even though I do have a debit card, I dont give a rats *** if you have to wait on me to write a check. Matter of fact if its a $10 purchase I write two checks for $5 just to make you wait longer.

I only use my debit card for internet purchases.

I haven't written a check since I was in college (2006) until a few days ago. Wrote two checks to pay off my atv (w00t!) and another to pay off one of my student loans (double w00t!).

Other than that, debit card FTMFW.
