Halp1 My video card is slow as molasses.

I don't have anything awesome, just the integrated Intel graphics card in my laptop. I don't do anything graphics-intensive, probably the most intense thing I do is sketchup. But it's gotten to the point where even Flash apps run slow as hell. I turned on Plasma Pong since it has the FPS meter in the corner, and the most it will do is 19fps. On friends, it'll do like 38fps.

I downloaded the most recent drivers, and it helped a little bit (Plasma Pong was running at 4fps) but things are still choppy, and didn't use to be.

Make sure video acceleration is set all the way up. "display properties" -> "settings" -> "advanced" button, -> then "troubleshoot" tab. Otherwise, check in the BIOS to make sure u have ample amount of VRAM set to it (32mb+). Other than drivers that'd be my first things to check. Otherwise, is your machine running slow?

I've never had many problems with dell hardware, their support is another story. Care to elaborate?

lol knew that was coming. I built my own also, but in the office environment you don't usually do it like that. When we have a company that's deploying 100 new workstations, I'm not building all of those. We sell dells and don't really have any problems with them - aside from user errors of course.

I work at a computer shop and let me tell you, HPs/Compaqs **** far worse nuts than Dell. In fact, Dell (especially laptops) come in the least for hardware problems. Their support site is BY FAR the best above all of the rest (no pun intended). Tech support I've had always had good dealings with. Family had a motherboard die that was under warranty. They were out there and had it replaced at her house in 3 days time, with about 45mins of phone support to verify it was the motherboard. Just my 2 cents
