Issue with mrx-m100 and SWR-12d4

Hello all,

I got my Pioneer AVH-P8400BH, Alpine MRX-M100 amp and SWR-12D4 sub installed. The issue is I am not getting the thump I expected to get with this sub running at 1000 watts RMS. I was getting almost no sound untill I set the pioneer to the max of +6 for the sub. I have the gain 3/4 up, bass boost maxed. I get the deep noise, it just doesn't seem to thump to what I think it should. I was getting a harder hit out of a JL 10" @175 watts rms.

I belive everything is hooked up right. From what I understood to drop to 4ohm amp down to 2ohm and get the output to be 1000watt rms I connect it like this Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

and that all that should need to be done.

Check gain settings on the amp, check amp x-over settings including sub-sonic filter. Check HU settings/connections to make sure the pre-outs are for subwoofer use and the correct x-over setting on the HU is being used, depending on how your system x-over set-up is designed. You should carefully double check your wiring to make sure it is wired correctly or for any leads accidentally unplugged, leading to single vc operation.

Leave both the subwoofer and bass boost at 0db, then set subwoofer gains properly. If you need maximum thump, use the DMM method. Check ALL crossover settings, on the amplifier and the head unit (don't use both). Also check if there is a good seal between subwoofer and the box. Sometimes this can be an issue for subwoofers without a rubber gasket.
