Is this wire enough?

I have an Orion XTR Pro 1000 and a Memphis ST3004 that I will soon be installing in my truck. Strangely, the Orion only takes 8 gauge wire, and the Memphis takes up to 4 gauge. I have a Stinger SWCKH44 that I would like to use, but it only allows for 8 gauge to be run from the distro block to the amps. I will be using the Memphis to power a 2-way active setup, so it will be producing 200-250 watts at most. I'm assuming that the Orion was made to put out full power with the 8 gauge wire. Do you guys think it will be enough to have 4 gauge run to the cap, then distro block, then 8 gauge to the amps, or do i need to look into more options?

Yeah, I figured that if I made good connections the whole way, made the 8 gauge runs as short as possible, and got good grounds for everything that it would be alright. It's just that most people around her suggest 0 gauge for anything over 1000w. Granted, they don't really make amps like this Orion anymore, but I figured I'd ask before I installed.

I think ppl get cable-happy when they choose wire gauge rather than looking at simple physics. 1000w = 4g no problem.

1/0 does look cool tho. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

well, the Orion is supposed to be underrated, so it's probably closer to 1400w. The amp kit is rated for that, but I don't like to put too much stock in ratings.
