is this too much power

I was planning on running two nightshade v3s on two strapped saz5000s. Is 5000 per woofer too much? I know sundown stuff is rated conservatively. Sundown's site says RMS is 3500, but I've read here that they are 2500 rms

Prolly not. They are 3500 rms on the new version ns subs

As long as you are sending 100% clean power and your box is sized right they should be fine on music. If your gonna demo tones I would be careful.

I was planning on least 2.5 cubic per woofer. Maybe more if needed. Cutting through the bed of an 87 s-10, so space is a factor. I am going to compete this build. I guess I could just strap two saz 3500s and RMS the bad boys

I wouldn't be scared to run double rated on Sundown subs. I've done that and triple rated with no problems.
