is this too good to be true?

you need a serpentine belt tool but it needs to be a ratchet for the socket drive other wise the bar gets caught on a motor mount in the top before you can loosen the tension

 
So the alternator is on the bottom, like I said in my post above? I got a shallow socket and a ratchet that will do the same thing. Should be able to pick up a $3 shallow 3/8th socket at just about any store
