im about to start building my box and i'm not too sure on how to bend my port.....I tried to the jl tuturiol, but don't understand it (sorry), my box is 40"W x 20" D x 11" H, my port needs to be 23" long could i just bend it around 15" and make the extension 7" does each length matter?Or does each length have to be a certain length to get a certain tuning freq?......any help would be greatly appreciated...... i tried to upload a pic but it messes it up.......

how big is the port going to be?? that will dictate when you bend it... (the width of the port).

and yes it has to be a certain length, to get a certain tuning frequency. if you are just guessing (it sounds like you are) you should get plans from jmac (for 10 dollars) or another forum member that might want to help for a small amount of money. you shouldnt be doing it yourself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

the port is supposed to be 7.5" x 9.5" x 23.92" for 33Hz tuning

ok..ur port needs to be almost 24" long..

to get the correct measurment, u measure down the center of the port.

what are the overall OUTSIDE dimensions of ur enclosure and what thickness wood are u using? what side is the port going to be on?

answer those and u'll get an answer

40 x 20 x 11, using 3/4 MDF i wanted it in the middle of the box, but the subs are goin on the top of the box, (does this matter?)
