Is this idea correct?

Only use I've got for a 5 channel amp is to allow me to run active or at least partially active on the front stage.

Xtant and Kicker make 3 channels amps that work well for the type of simple 2-way system that the OP wants. Even 200w is plenty of power on the sub for most people.

If your looking for a 4 channel to buy I actually have one for sale that might meet your needs.

It's an MB Quart RAA4200 link

You'll get 200 watts out of each channel at 2 ohm

100 watts out of each channel at 4 ohm

then if you bridge 2 of the channels you'll get 400 watts at 4 ohm.

so could give your comps either 200 or 100 (depending on their impedance) and your sub 400

PM me if your interested.

The arc ks 300.4 would run the system the way you are talking about nicely.

Audison 5.1k would be premium //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I noticed you like nice shit, but if this dude wants to run 4 speakers off of a 2 ch amp, what makes you think he has/wants to spend money on an Audison amp.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I am going to be running a pair of ID CTX65CS's in the door and an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D sub in the back. Specs on the sub are:

Kappa Perfect10

Configuration: 10" subwoofer

Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohms

Power Handling: 350W rms 1400W peak

Sensitivity @2.83V/1m: 94dB in-car @ 40Hz

Frequency Response: 18 – 200Hz

10.1D is a dual 4 isn't it?

That would reduce the output of the typical 4 ch since you'd have to run it at 8 ohms mono instead of 4, but a decent 100x4 will still give you 200w rms for the sub. The SVC version (10.1) would be ideal.

In that case, i can run it off of 1 voice coil. I already have this sub and love it. That is why I want to use it again.
Please don't do this. You should power all coils on a sub. Just look for a quality amp that can handle 2ohm's bridged. You might spend a bit more, but will most likely get plenty of power as well. You'll want an amp that is 1 ohm stable stereo/2 ohm stable bridged.

BTW, what you want to do is a very economical way to power a whole system and allow future upgradability if you choose. Plus it saves alot of space. Look at something like the Phoenix Gold X200.4, this amp is stable to 1ohm stereo and 2ohm bridged and puts out alot of power.

200 x 4 @ 4, 2, 1ohms

400 x 2 @ 8, 4, 2ohms

The Kicker would be a decent amp as well. However I would do some searching for the PG amp over the Kicker. They can be found both used and BNIB at very good prices and can put out significantly more power on the front channels. I'm a big fan of having headroom on my components. If warranty is a big issue though, the kicker may be the better way to go. Either way, you can definitely find an amplifier that will provide you with everything you need in one chassis

A decent 4ch amp is a great way to run a modest pair of components and a sub. For example, an arc 4150xxk will provide ~90w rms * 2 and ~350w rms * 1...perfect for a reasonably efficient set of components and a very wide range of subs.

you could do it that way but i wouldn't do it that way. i would use all 4 channel of a sundown 100.4 amp and then buy a MONO channel amp to push my sub(s) so you would be running 2 amps.
in my opion which is probaly wrong 4channel amps aren't tuff enough to push subs! put it this way a 4channel amp puts out what 100-200rms bridged and most subs need what at least 500rms to sound good!!
Yes you are wrong. A 4 channel amp could push a smaller sub just fine. My amp puts out 425 @ 4 ohms bridged //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

headless: The arc 4150xxk is a great amplifier, however it doesn't appear it would work well in the OP setup since he already has his sub and it is dual 4ohm. The 4150xxK appears to only be 4ohm stable bridged. Great amp though!!!
