"the 7990 is a 7969 with a upgraded eq and a stronger pre out.....thats all....for those who dont know...the 7969 is the best cd player ever created by alpine who makes the best cd players.........the 7990 is the upgrade to that...thats why the 7990 is known as the best cd player ever...alpine made a line called the f1 status(the top of the line) that has a cd player (the 7990) an amp...a processor and some speakers...they were made to be played together..if u dont buy all the parts to the f1 line u lose about 50 percent of the sound quality that u would recieve out of ur system....dont get me wrong ur system still will sound great if u have some good amps and good speakers but the 7990 was made to go with those specific F1 parts as "a whole".....

umm...the CDA-9815 as seen by owners of it as flawless and pure quality...i dont know much about the CDA-7969...or CDA 7990...but the CDA-7990 is far too expensive...

and can you get a 7969 for 1/3 the price of a 9815???

Many owners of the 9815 saw it as having weak pre outs. As a general rule, from what I have read on a bazillion forums over the years, the 7969 is definitely considered to be a "better" deck than a 9815. It might not have a bazillion features, but if I had to take one of them for performance, it would be the 7969.

As to whether everything quoted in the original post is accurate or not, I have no idea.
