Is this enough deadener?

On a similiar note, my truck is a work truck model with the rubber flooring. Would it benefit the sound/acoustics to replace this with carpet while I have the truck torn apart?

Yeah, I'm ripping EVERYTHING out. I'd like to even get some of the dash apart and get something in there. I want to make sure I do it right the first time so I'm not digging this thing apart again later. Thanks guys. You put my mind at ease.

If you would get the carpet dirty, I wouldn't bother. With the RAAMmat and Ensolite underneath, you will be in good shape. The rubber is more reflective, but it also works as a barrier. I have heavy rubber mats in my car and really love the practicality, although they are on top of carpet.

Sounds like you have the right quantity of materials. I don't bother to glue the foam down to the mat on horizontal surfaces anymore. The carpet, or rubber in your case, will be fine and it makes it much easier to change things in the future if you need to.

Keep all of your Ensolite scraps. They come in very handy for gasketing trim panels and the like.

Good luck and enjoy.

If I do switch over to carpet I will get a set of molded rubber floor mats to keep it from getting dirty. I was thinking of the reflection causing problems since my subwoofer is going to be mounted in a custom center console that will be downfiring in between the two seats. In the summer I may put some nicer carpeted floor mats in since they do look a bit nicer.

Then you'll definitely get a benefit from the carpet.

Next set of tires, I'm going to switch over to some all-terrains too. That should help quiet the highway ride down a bit. Right now I have Procomp X-terrains on the truck and they hum pretty **** loud. I sent an email to RAAMaudio and the owner replied back to me with some specific tips for pickup trucks and he suggested the exact same amount of materials I already had picked out also. Now if it would just stop snowing!!!

Rick did a lot of work on his Tacoma, so he has good experience with pick ups.

We're getting freezing rain in Maryland. Looks good for next week.

I'm going to place an order with RAAMaudio tommarrow for 125 Sq.Ft. of RAAMmat BXT and 6 yards of ensolite MLC. You guys thank that should be good for a regular cab pickup?
