is this ebay box good for a type r?

If you want, I'd be happy to build you a box. I happen to have quite a few Type-R designs already, so we may not even need to go outlandish //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

that would be great. how much would you be charging with shipping and all?

by using reverse engineering and assuming some of the dimensions using the volume displacement provided by the seller.

i get an enclosure thats

3/4" mdf, siliconed sealed.

1.8cuft internal volume after port displacement.

then the port seem to be H=13"

L=23"

port opening = W=1.5

port displacement= .39cuft

enclosure tuning= 33Hz

to avoid port noise stay within 375Wrms

F3= 28.5Hz

and has a peak at 39Hz @ 2.7DB mark.

shit for $58 to the house, what more could you ask, it may not be the best enclosure out there. but for the price im sure you wont be desapointed. yeah you could get a way better enclosure for a higher price. but for that amount of money, for a daily driver. it look good.

but by all means, if you have the money for a better enclosure go for a diffrent one, no doubt. but if youre short on cash. shit why not. lol

i want to get a ported box cause a lot of people have been *****in at me cause i wanted to get a sealed box for my sub. everyone is telling me not to put a type r in a sealed box cause it'll sound like shit. i listen to mostly ska/punk but i listen to all kinds of music aswell. i am not going for spl i just want solid, tight bass that'll make music with double bass sound good. i want to get a sealed box that is around 1.75cu but i'm not sure if i should get that or go ported.

suggestions???

my 10" type r is sitting in a .75cuft with about 50% polyfill. and it sounds awesome.

people sit in my truck and cant belive theyr ears.

diffrent people diffrent taste. the type r is a general purpose sub put it in most kind of enclosures. for a 12" sub ported dont go bigger then 3cuft sealed dont go bigger then 2.5cuft. play with smaller parameter then those given above and if tuned right you will get great sound out of your 12" type r. if you need to go sealed in real small enclosure like mine, then add polyfill to the enclosure play with 25%~ 75% polyfill till you find the right sound.
