is this curve good or not? pic inside!

i can barely make out some of the info you have inputed on the winISD database for that particular subwoofer specs, but i do see allot of blank spaces, make sure that all the t/s info required by winisd to properly graph that sub is added, and that its accurate, some times if the t/s info provided by the manufacturer is not very accurate, it will generate a false graph like that. allow winISD to fill in some of the values for you and try it again. then if you still get a radical graph value, input the factory recommended enclosure specs for that sub and compare that new graph, with the graphs you get for the bigger and smaller enclosures. that will give you an idea as to a correction factor. then just compare how much more spl and at what freqs there are variations, and go with which ever gives you a better response.

just my two cents if your going to use winISD.

I think the bigger problem is that WinISD totally ignores the vehicle's transfer function, so there's no accurate way to predict how the enclosure will work inside the cabin.

I'd put my trust in LEAP before WinISD any day, but even then, modeling programs aren't everything. Some drivers just don't model worth a **** but do amazingly well in reality.

If this is a modified driver, who gave you those specs? Down to 4 decimal places...

he can later factor in the vehicle's transfer function, if he knows how.

but he can still use winISD to get a base line, as of to how that subwoofer may respond to different sizes and types of enclosures. winISD shouldn't be your only resource to figure out what type or size enclosure to use, but to get an idea of how that subwoofer may respond to a particular enclosure, and compare the factory recommended enclosure with what ever type of enclosure he may what to use, it should be fine.

yes there are other softwares that he can pay for to get a much accurate modeling of the subwoofer. but for what is worth. it has work for allot of people, i don't see why it wont work for him. either way he can also learn how to do this by hand and read all the sites info and resources to figure it out, but at the same time winisd can provide a vague subwoofer response between enclosures.

the peak is to high, ull have a huge difference in the output, flatten it out...manufactor recommendations are ok, but not completly accurate....example, i went with the recommendations on my jbl p1222 and the port was 102/277 mm, i ran it for a month and just didnt feel right, so put the specs in win isd and it said 102/350mm, not a small difference, tried it and was reborn, plays much better then it did b4

I just called jeff at Mass Destruction Audio and he said since it is a recone he can't give me the box specs obviously because this speaker has different specs than a napalm because it has been reconed. So i'm just going to wing it and do a 1.25cuft net volume @30 hz

Your Vas is wrong. It should be 4.3 cubic feet and not liters. 4.3 liters is low as ****.

While those graphs aren't going to tell you the exact response, they ARE useful contrary to what many people here think. From the subs I have ghetto measured, they graph very similar to what the theoretical response is. When in car, there are a few extra peaks and increased low end but the theoretical shape remains close (within reason).

Are you sure? Thats a big difference.. When i put that into winisd it changed to 4.3cuft to being the recommended enclosure and this sub is designed to run in a much smaller enclosure..

I've never seen a Vas as low as 4.3 liters. The HD-6 mids have a Vas of 11 liters, Cadence 6.5" mids have a Vas of 10.2 liters.

Maybe it's not 4.3 cubic feet but it shouldn't be 4.3 liters -- that's just way too low. It may be 43 liters.
