You also need another fuse between batteries...no more than 18" off the front batt.

You don't need 2 fuses between alt ----> batt. either

my battery isnt in the front of the car. its under the back seat. thats why i was putting two fuses. wasnt sure if i did in fact need two and or where to put them

You can for added safety, but you are right, alot of people don't put a fuse on that run.

If it's that long of a run, I wouldn't blame you for putting two fuses on the alt----->batt run. You will need a fuse between the batteries as well.

no i think the wirinf between batteries is wrong. the way you have it setup will make 24 volts insteads of 12. i'll post a diagram in a minute

You are incorrect.

Alt +---->Batt. 1+, Batt.1 +---->Batt. 2 +, Batt.1 neg------->Batt.2 neg.

Doube fuse between alt and batt if that run is going inside that cabin, it will give you protection on both ends. Single fuse between batteries.

i just used windows paint real fast. the way you have is right. the picture i drew was the 24 volt wiring.

You also don't need to ground the second battery to the frame, as long as the first battery is grounded to the frame and the second battery is grounded to the first.
