I discovered today when I turned my sub box over that theres a crack in it! Its a downfiring dual sub sealed enclosure so its 2 seperate chambers with open space in the middle. The crack is on the wall of 1 side of the enclosure.....It doesnt look deep but I dont know. What should I do>??

I have no idea, this is the first time I flipped the box over since I got it installed about 1.5 years ago. Could it be affecting output?

if the crack goes all the way through the box and its a sealed box then yeah its affecting output but if it doesnt seal it up, silicone or filling it up with wood glue might work too

ill take some pix in the morning for u guys.....i cant tell exactly how deep it is but it goes all the way across.

sell the crack to a crack head.

use a 9v battery on the sub wires and see if you hear air running through the crack. if you dont then it didnt go through.

take the speaker out. squirt water in the joint of the crack. then put gorilla glue in the crack. set the box where the glue will seep into the crack. this will fix your problem. love that gorilla glue

I think Id address why the crack is there in the first place. But I suspect this is just a crack in the edge of the material, as mdf cracks/separates easily when you do not pre-drill for screws properly. Very common. If so, you can just fill the crack with wood glue and call it good enough.

its a prefab box made to fit underneath the backseat of my truck, i dont think its that good quality. The crack is where the vertical piece of the chamber meets the horizontal top piece which holds the 2 chambers together. Seems like a stress crack or just shoddy craftsmanship.
