I have 2 12" Pioneer ts-w304c subs (600w max, 300w rms) in a sealed box in my trunk being powered by 1 JBL 600.1 amp.

I was looking into replacing my factory speakers and i think i'm going with the Phoenix Gold QX620e (120w max 60w rms). Does this sound like a good match?

I've heard that the amp used to power your speakers isn't nearly as important as the one needed to power your subs? is this a valid point? I don't want to go out and buy some POS amp and have it sound like crap, but I dont want to pay more than i need to. Any suggestions on the amp?

Thanks

I would never buy some boss or pyramid amp to power any of my speakers. A friend of mine had some type of pyramid amp powering a set of his kappa components and they didnt sound that great. I would get a decent quality amp, but of course it won't be as big or cost as much as your sub amp.

pheonix gold are awesome amps...i would recomend using them...or jbl is another good one.....since your using jbl for your sub....why not go w/ them for your speakers???

the subs sound good...on a scale of 1 to 10 w/ 10 being the best, i'd say a 7.5 (i give it a lil extra cuz i paid very little). i have it in a sealed enclosure made to specs.

i'll take a look at those us acoustics speakers in the meantime.

Originally posted by Skwerl btw, the speakers are 60w rms

the us acoustics amp was 50w rms...would i need to bridge the channels?
u would not want to bridge the amp. why?

1. the amp is rated at 12.9volts and you're going to see more than 50 watts per channel. around 60watts?

2. if you bridge it, how are you going to use the amp to power 2 speakers?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

my hu is a pioneer dehp3300. can it sufficiently power the speakers?

the manual for the hu says:

" Maximum power output: 50 W x 4

50 W x 2 ch/4 ohms + 70 W x 1 ch/2 ohms (for Subwoofer) "

I would suggest a good 4 channel amp. Even though your back speakers are more for rear fill they still should get quality power......not "deck" power.

Just my opinion.
