is this a good amp?

Ok, so you can expect around 400W out of it if it were 100% efficient.

So it's putting out 300-400 to the pair of subs, so say 175-200w a piece.

That profile amp is rated at 225 watts bridged, which won't really work for the subs.

However, you need to find a way to figure out which kenwood models those are.

Check the best buy website or something and see if you can find kenwood subs at a similar price you paid that look the same so we can get a power rating or something. Also see if we can figure out what VC config it is.

Yeah, 95% of the time the voice coil config is stamped on the back of the motor and with those subs possibly a model number and power rating.

Do those seem likely to be it? Does Bestbuy offer anything else that looks similar?

No need to go pulling em out if there's no need to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

looks like them. probably 85% chance those are them. but i will take them out and look at them just to be sure, tomorrow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well in the mean time, what is the amount of $$ your trying to throw down on the amp for the subs?

i dont even know prices for amps. so i dont know. something that will make them sound good but not break my bank. 200 at the most i guess, it also depends on how much i end up paying for the new component speakers.

are u saying that profile amp should be good enough to power my new component speakers? or did i make a mistake in buying it and its not good enough to anything i need it for ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

It will be able to power your components AND possibly rear fill as well.

It's rated to do 75 through each of the four channels. Now depending on what components you buy, you will run 2 channels to components, then you can run the other 2 channels to your rear fill.

If you buy components that'll handle a higher power level you can bridge the 4 channels into 2 channels and get 225 watts out of 2 channels. I don't know of any low priced component sets that can take that much power daily though.

And you should look into the Kicker ZX750.1 I've seen it around the net for as low as like $160 and it puts out 750watts (slightly under rated too, so expect a bit more) into 2 ohms, which is what you need if those are your subs cause they are single 4Ω and can wire into either a 2Ω load or an 8Ω load.

someone told me not amping my back speakers will make my system sound better. they told me just use the head unit to power the rear speakers and they said buy something to cut the bass out from them or some shit. is this good advice?

what should i be looking for in buying component speakers? u suggested me these

and those say 120 W each, and u say my amp can only do 75 w thru each of the 4 channels. so how would i be able to hook them speakers up to that amp?

The PG RSD's can take anywhere from 5watts up to I've seen some people running 150 and 175. I myself will be running 150 to mine once they are in.

As for the rear fill not being amped. This is preference mainly. Generally people running a substage will not run rear fill or will just run it off the HU. But this is a very touchy subject. I personally will be doing what you plan on doing and amplifying the front while leaving the rear off of the HU.

And just because you can't push the speakers to the max doesn't mean they won't work. Pheonix Gold states a minimum of 5 watts to get them moving, so anywhere from 5-150 they will work. I'm not sure of any comps that take less than that much power or so, so I don't know.

That is the amp I would put to them. The subs are rated at 400 watts RMS each, so around 800 watts RMS for the both of them at 2 ohms. This amp is spec'd to put out 750 at 2 ohms but is under rated and will be close to 800. Plus the kicker ZX amps are great and these go for pretty cheap prices.

Don't buy it yet though. Tomorrow you should take out your subs just to confirm your coil config.
