that will work for what you need it for
are you speaking from experience with this amp?

i want to know if their published specs above are true or overrated?

somebody say something:)

thanks

earthquake is made in santa clara california i think. I saw them at the sema show in vegas. They are willing to stand behind their products (i think). they are extrememly over rated notice they list liek a 20,000rms amp or something thats the size of a 1000.

how about this one.

boss amps aren't one amp that you would like...i would say get a sundown 100.4....they can bump mids/high...also your woofers...they sell it for like 370 or so (i think). maybe you can get it for like a little more then 250 shipped on caraudio.com...some one here has a sundown 100.2 for sale...for 200 shipped...well sundown amps are definitely underated amps....i think they are nice amps...for the money...im planning on getting a sundowns 1000 wrms mono class d and 100.4 amps....they are both underated...i heard you be satisfied with sundown amps...

The earthquake looks like a good bang for the buck 5 - channel. It does claim 24 db crossovers, high order crossover on the bass channel could help keep the bass up front. It is capable of up to 800 watts RMS. I agree it is ugly... but don't let the fancy looks scare you away... that's how they are making a lot of the products these days, they sell more of them. Just understand that looks and chrome have nothing to do with sound quality.

Other good ones... one of the best might be the US amps, see ikesound on ebay.

Best bang for the buck:

Phoenix Gold has one I've seen that can do 750 watts RMS for as low as $150. This would probably be my pick.

Also, Hifonics has one that is 1,000 watts RMS ...I've seen some of the older models listed for as low as $175. Only thing I don't like is they don't have switches to turn off filters like subsonic, like some of the more expensive amps. Not sure if those filters could color the sound if you don't need them. This may be part of the reason they are so cheap.

Careful with Boss... they tend to be overrated... probably only put out half the power they say.

Soundstream has some nice features... the Tarantula has nice flush mounted inputs all on one side (but you pay for it)... and will do rated power. The new reference and Human series might even be underrated... but I don't know if they are available yet. Be careful with soundtream though... their lower tier amps are overrated.
