Depending on what the 8's are I'd be tempted to try them. You've had a lot of good advice in this thread... very ununsual for caraudio.com!

saw you are still in the process of deciding on the head unit i would definitely recommend the cda 117 lots of great features only thing it is missing is the 3.5mm headphone jack but it does have a usb and works well with android and ipods.

I sure am meeting some "interesting" people looking at these cars I have for sale.

I let this one guy test drive one of them yesterday, and he put almost 200 miles on it, doing his sales route. He kept if for 10+ hours, Then he tried to lowball me on the price. I had to talk to him for over 3 minutes on the phone to teach him how to turn on/off the overdrive button...

Thanks DoesDad. I've ended up ordering an Image Dynamics IDQ-10 dual 4ohm sub.

From what I've heard, I'm expecting to be very happy.

Also on the way is a PowerBass Autosound ASA 600.1 to drive it. I think I'm gonna like this setup.

What did u pay for the amp?

Because i have a powerbass asa 1500.1 that im pretty sure is right around what you paid what id be asking for you could run this 1 at a higher OHM for higher quality and still leave plenty of overhead for future upgrades

I paid $150 shipped for the used PowerBass Autosound ASA 600.1. It has already been shipped.

I saw some for $200 new...

It's not the normal 50% off for used stuff but the guys been real helpful, and I've heard Powerbass is good quality.

Parallel connecting the dual 4ohm sub will get the amp to do 600watts. I'm a little scared of more than 600watts power because the sub is only rated 500watts.

Higher ohms connection is higher quality? Series vs. Parallel?
