hi guys

i was thinking whether fixing an amplifier to the box/enclosure of an amplifier, is it a bad thing since the amp will have all those vibrations to it???

i saw it done many times but had a doubt if it is bad.

ppl will say different things.. some say the box vibrations might dmg the amp.. but then again your whole car shakes almost as much as the box so wherever you put it probaly doesnt matter

Couple of threads about this. The major vote is no, it is not horrible. If you can get away without doing it, don't. But you are very unlikely to damage the amp from vibrations.

yes i was thinking of doing it seperate which will avoid direct impact on the amp from being directly fixed with the box. but regarding thieves it was for that thing that i was gonna do it fixed with d enclosure, since there are some days (places) where i will remove it and it will be easy for me but ill find a way to separate and make it removable too. any ideas? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hell in my city of 50k I wouldnt put anything past crackheads.

I try to avoid it when possible, but sometimes when space is the issue you have to. Just to be safe , use some type of rubber washer between the amp and the box.

A guy at work told me that his uncle used to put razors on the bottom of his box so if someone would try to jack his stuff it'd cut their hands. Good idea, but how would you lift it yourself or not **** up the interior:wow:

If your enclosure is vibrating so much that it will cause an amplifier damage, your enclosure is weak and needs more bracing and should be secured to your car better.

I'm not saying you have this issue but in general.
