lol just to try it out and see how it sounds. As for power, i'll be upgrading my amps soon to power my fi Q 15 and 2 seperate 10s gonna be either two Sounqubed Q1-2200D or two AB VFL 4480.1D so i can strap it to test out this sub if i want to. This sub just seems tempting, i just wanna listen to everything just once and if i dont like the sound i can probably sell it on craigslist for the 200 i paid for it anyways.

I've read that the cones are heavy and motor is insufficient for it's design... Also beware it's not nearly as efficient as advertised //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'd try to jew em' down a bit from the $200 he wants //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

You're going to run a 15 along with 2 10's in the same vehicle? Did I understand that correct?
lol i know its not ideal but yeah, I would run two 15s but not enough space. can actually fit a FIQ 15 in slot ported box and two shok flo 1k 10s in an aeroport box and its going to take a lot of messing around with the aeroport lengths to get the sound right with all the chaos going on with the different FS of each sub, but for sure its gonna be friggen loud when i do get it all done (well, it'll be loud to me at least I dont think i'll be hitting the 150+ club anytime soon with my ****** car). Just going as loud as my space can take me.

I've just never seen that work very well. Why not just get 3 beefy 12's with the space you have to work with? Just a thought. Because if you can run 2 10's and a 15 efficiently you've got the 6-7 cubes needed for 3 12's. And with 3 12's you're going to get closer to that 150 mark and sound a lot better doing it. I'm sure others will chime in but running different size subs is never a good idea imo.

^agreed unless you plan on running the 15 in a different xover range e.g. 15" from 25hz-50hz and 10"s from 50hz-100hz but even still you'll get the best sound from a uniform sub stage

Couldn't have said it any better. As for the goliath,it will get loud but is extremely power hungry and not very efficient SQ is terrible on these bad boys but that's to be understood. I'd still get it to play with, like u said u can always pawn it off on someone else if it's not exactly your cup of tea.Gl

I've seen it work, in some setups actually. I've also seen it fail miserably in some prefab setups too. I'm just working with what equipment I have currently, trust me i would love to have 3 12"Zcons/hdc4/IA Death Penalties pounding in my trunk lol buut those are outta my reach right now.

I originally only planned to have 1 15, but i put in my friend's pair of alpine type E 10s and his amp in for sh1ts and giggles and the sound was honestly not that bad, subs got along nicely with each other, none played faster than the other. There was a very noticeable volume boost and airlow gain(gf's hair actually flys up to her ear now instead of just fluttering). and those were just two type E with a 400 rms kenwood amp.

In the future, maybe i'll do a before and after term lab at the local audio shop and see how it goes when i put in the 1k rms 10s and the two new amps(my current amp barely tickles the FIQ).

As for the Hifonics sub... After reading up on it, and looking through videos on youtube, it looked less and less impressive, not sure the setup was bad but most of the performance was pretty sub-par Just hope its not one of the "you get what you pay" for kind of subs.

From my research, people said its needed bigger enclosures and was not efficient with power and needed more than 3k rms to fully push it. Everything seems solid on the build except for the spiders which several youtubers said it ripped after a few months. No DB claims from anyone owning these subs.

that sub actually has a pretty small motor to be shoving around such a heavy suspension. personally i wouldnt mess with it. also dont dick around with multiple sub sizes. its really not worth it.

Im also calling BS on the mini hair trick with that setup...

I dunno if it's been mention but there were different goliath versions as well with different power handlings. the model number is what was different and they rated the different models by their parts used I suppose, better coils for higher handling and such.

I can't remember the numbers but i'm sure you could just google search it or something to make sure he doesn't have a lower model one and thinking it's the 3200w one.
