That is assuming that it's contents are the same as they were when originally written. Fact is, most of the New Testament was written by people who had no first hand knowledge of Jesus, his acts, or heard his teachings. The gospels were written up to 300 years after He died. The Old Testament was passed down as word of mouth for hundreds, if not thousands of years, before being transcribed to a written medium. Quite frankly, there is no way the actual events made it through that many generations without being altered in some form or fashion. Please make sure the "facts" you have are entirely accurate before using them to support your claim. Don't get me wrong, I am a Christian, and we more than likely believe in the same fundamentals, but I still find it remarkable that people take the Bible literally as the "Word of God".
