Hi, i only know about built in amplifier x-overs. When we want to use an external xover we most likely will turn off ( Full Pass) the built in xover amp, but why using an external xover if the amplifier already has one?? What do u mean guys by 2-3-4 ways xovers? there are like sets of rca outputs that comes out of the xover and every one is either LPF or HPF and goes to the amp??? we can then split the rca of the LPF or HPF coming out from xover &send them to different amps right? Still dont know what u mean about 2,3,4 ways external xover. Anyne could tell me?? thx a lot

thx guys, i have 3 amplifiers... so i can use either a 2or 3 way xover and then split the rca wires that comes out of the LPF sets and t he HPF sets of the xover and then fix them to the inputs of my amps??

Also do i need this external xover?? all of my 3 amps have built in x-overs, HU doenst have a built in xover. thx

Yeah well I dont know what slaugh is talking about his hu xover is better than a external xover. Unless you tested it to a legacy or prymaid or lanzar, haha!
i have a 9815 hu and a visteon comp speakers that has it's own xover.... i noticed using the 3way mode of my hu and doing the cuts directly from it gave me better SQ

well come on someone replies regarding my last qyestion:(//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif:(//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

judging from my experience the active xovers are way way better. either do active using your amp's built in xover, the hu, or an external one. I had polk db, momo, and kappa perfects, and mb premiums and they all sounded better using the built in x10 xover of my polk momo amps. Huge improvement; more detail and more power.

that's what i was saying

however, the impression I got on this forum is that people go active only to have more leaway in setting the xover point, not necessarily from an sq point of view
