This picture was posted by another member but it is the same trunk my setup will be going into.

He said it was 5 ft^3 net and tuned to 28hz. I'm thinking of running a box like this for two type r 12's so I want to know if this setup is any good. Or would I be better off going with a sealed box for 12's or two ported 10's. I want decent sq but right now I really want loudness.

hmm im guessing he did a in-trunk build? I dont know bro i would say pm that guy and see how he got it in there and if thats route you want to go give it a try.

that box is too big and tuned too low. you'd be better off doing say 4cu.ft. tuned to 35Hz with aeroports to save even more room (slot ports take alot of space)
Really? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

That was one of my old setups. At the time most of the guys that tried the type-r's were using 2.5^3 net. And at the time I listened to screwed and chopped music nearly esclusively. That setup was absolutely great for what I wanted at the time.

It was not an in-trunk build. It went in from the cabin side. I had it facing rear-ward for a while and then switched it to fire towards the cabin with the seats down. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I say its too big because a box that large isn't necessary for type-r's. Plus if you want true SPL, you don't tune that low. Type-R's don't need alot of room to function well.

There were a bunch of us that used boxes that size. If you can weed through almost 3,000 posts, it's all in the Type-R thread:

And you are very right, if you only want SPL tune much higher than the 28hz that setup was at. But at the time I was really into playing 25hz tones and shaking the shit out of my interior. lol
