Is the Rockford power t600.4 bridgable at 2 ohms? Or is it only stable bridged at 4 ohms?

Think I found out why my Rockford gets stupid hot. Rockford power t600.4.
I had the front speakers wired to 2 ohms. And the back speakers wired to 2 ohms. And I had the Rockford set kn 2 channel and ran bridged. So was that wrong? I now have each speaker ran at 4 ohms to each of the 4 channels. Would that have been why my amp was getting really hot and going into thermal protect?

Thanks ya. Just pulled the trigger on the 1500BDCP because of the constant power that RF developed to help with the ohm rise.
