Is the new JLW6v2 sounds better than W7s?!?! Opinions!

Had several posts from people that the new W6 sounds better than W7s....But probably depends in the install......also authroized dealer post that to....opinions?!?!

I've heard both. They both have some of the best SQ out there but the w7 is alot louder at higher wattage. Price wise theres subs that can hang in every way with half the price.

I think so to!!! Would a single JL 12" W7 be a good choice?!?! I already have 2 15" L5 in a 4.8cf per chamber, ported each. Only 3 days used, rock the $hit out of me. I wanna sell these because it dont fit in my new car and i dont want to build a box for them again and take the whole space in my trunk. So i was considering getting a 12" or 13.5" W7.....

w7 plays what it gets as far as amp, if u got a high quality amp then you'll be fine w/w7 and i'm not talkin about jbl either!

also when getting w7 u probably might as well go ahead and get jl amp too (1000/1) b/c its ability to play at 3ohms

as far as which i'd pick

i'd get the w6v2 before w7 anyday, simply b/c its cheaper and you can run it like a normal sub, not at **** 3ohms which ****..... meaning you can keep ur current amp, if its powerful enough...

That sucks to, you can wire the W7 into 4ohms, 2 ohms or 1ohm stable?!?! I was gonna ask a question like that for a 3ohm sub, how the hell you wire that.....?!?!

I got a Visonik X900XD 1800watt amp, only 3 days used, so i'm gonna use that for my next sub. I was using it for the L5s, pretty good!!!!

Maybe i was thinking getting 2 10" W6v2 or 2 12"s or 1 12" Depends on the pricing and the shipping, i live all the way from Hawaii. I think 2 10" W6v2 would be nice. But everyone is saying W7 W7 W7 W7 W7!........

Oh ya, people saying IDMAX, if you got the money, go with the W7........

What does the first part of this even mean? A high quality amplifier is not required to make the W7 sound good. A JBL would do the job in a pinch.

Any amp that plays at 2 ohms plays at 3.

Why would running it at 3ohms ****? I run my amp at 4ohms. If I had the W7 I could run more power to it. Why does that ****? If that's your only reason for picking the W6 before the W7...

humm not same amount of watts at 3 ohms as in 2ohm ..

besides if u get a 12w7 you're gonna need 1000 watts rms to run that, does ur amp rate high b/w 4ohm and 2ohm around 1000 watts??

meaning at 3ohms is it at least 1000 watts??

w7 i just wouldn't do it.. A buddy of mine and myself had a fight over this **** sub i just can't see myself spending all that **** money on that thing..

like i said before w6v2 .... ALL THE WAY MAN!

i myself am thinking about getting rid of mysubs and just downsizing to a one of these 12 inches... run it at 4ohms to give it 450 watts to have less current in my car...

hey also consider diamond audio tdx, its supposed to be better than jlw7... i heard a single 10 ported in a civic .. of course the rms wasn't met i think that guy was just giving it like 400 watts, but it sounded really nice.. u might want to get more review on this sub though...

shoot, i might consider that 12 too, and do a lil' comparison b/w that and w6v2 as far as price and sound quality...

The amp i got is a Visonik X900XD, here are the specs...

RMS Power @ 14.4V:

4 Ohm 750W

2 Ohm 1000W

1 Ohm 1500W

MAX Power @ 14.4V :

4 Ohm 1000W

2 Ohm 1500W

1 Ohm 1800W

I'm thinking getting a 12" IDMAX, 2 10" W6v2 or single 12", 12" W7, 12" Inhuman, HC 12", 12" HCCA....Dam.....dont know what to choose.....

SEE NOT QUITE 1000 RMS.. I'D SAY STILL GO W/THE 2W6V2'S BUT THAT'S JUST ME

You DO NOT need 1000W going to the W7 in order for it to perform. Just because that is the drivers RMS does not mean you are required to give it that much power for it to function.

I KNOW BUT WHEN U SPENDING THAT MUCH MONEY ON THAT PARTICULAR SUB OR ANY SUB.... MIGHT AS WELL POWER THAT SUCKER!

I HEARD 500 WATTS RMS FROM JL AMP GOIN TO ONE AND IT SOUNDED **** GOOD......

BUT LIKE I SAID MIGHT AS WELL POWER IT UP!
