WHAT'S UP......

I just put in my ROCKFORD FOSGATE HX-2'S in a sealed box and it's powered by an ORION EXTREME PRO 1000. It's great sounding bass inside the car, but it shakes every ****ing thing outside, especially my rear bumber......"I hate that noise." ( IT SOUNDS GHETTO AS HELL.........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif )

What do you big bass heads do about this...........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif cause I really need to know. I'd hate to think that I put all this effort into this just to regret it...........

Egg Carton Foam and any sound deadening material.

people also use expanding foam, but i've heard horror stories of it bending the metal and hardening after it dries. if either happens it causes more problems than it fixed. the egg carton foam can just be shoved into any crevice, is durable, and easy to remove/clean up.

actually, if your bumper is rattling and not your back hatch or deck lid, all the deadening in the world won't completely stop it. what kinda car is it? are the body panels made of metal or fiberglass? have you had a system in there rattling shit loose for a while now? without knowing this info, i'd venture to guess that you'll need to install some thick rubber grommets and silicone anywhere where the panels touch the frame or other panels, and where the bumper bolts on. Might even have to stuff the offending panels with styrofoam peanuts or something like that.

if it's just the hatch/deck lid and liscense plate rattling (which is the case in about 90% of installs) and not the panel itself, thick weather stripping and sound deadening mat/spray will probably cure it.
