Alpine CDA-7893 with 15L7 and BD1000.1 NOT LOUD

My friend just got his system installed. I checked the wiring and the gain and the settings on the deck (CDA-7893). I can't get it to be all that loud. The person he bought his 15L7 from had it on a Kicker DX700 and it was pretty loud for a single sub install. My friend bought the amp from me so I know that nothing is wrong with that. Again, I know that his sub is wired at a 2-ohm load also. I had last years CDA-7875 so I know some of the settings on the CDA-7893. However, are there some settings that I am not doing right?

Turn up the subwoofer control, it goes up to +15. You can access it by pressing the rotary knob and it is the first available (or should be) setting. You also can turn up the bass and just HP and LP your speakers so it blocks all bass from your speakers.

Yeah, I know...he already had it on +15. I even adjusted the bass inself...still it isn't that loud. Any other ideas?

Funny thing is that it was installed by Sound Advice...they all are certified installers. I guess I was glad that I was confident enough to do my own after some planning. Now I know that I can successfully do it again if need be.

I am going to take a look at everything again tomorrow morning. Let ya'll know how it goes.

1. don't set the crossover too low.

2. make sure it is REALLY In 2ohm load.

3. get the right gauge power wire.

4. try to shorten your ground wire from the amp

5. is the amp getting power from the Sub preout on the headunit?

6. the alpine headunit has the sub phase (0-180) mess around with that.

there are 2 settings i forgot to mention

there is a "bandwidth" selecter which is 1-4 (i use 1)

and then there is a frequency something on it (60-180) put it on 60 and mess around with it from there....
