Is spending double the money REALLY worth it? Q2200 vs PPI 1800

The Black Ice "BA" models are supposed to have an aluminum cover now, as they originally were designed to have, instead of acrylic covers. The new models aren't out yet. Check the web site for specs:Black Ice - Amplifiers - Products

Any idea if these will at least be strappable?

The BA 5000.1 makes ~200 more rms supposedly at 1 ohm.

Think it's a typo on OnlineCarStereo.

The BA.7000.1 should be around 3500 rms at 1 ohm.

But go ahead and buy one, and let us know how it does. Prices are stupid cheap

that 7000.1 is prolly the same amp as the 5000.1 just optimized to run at .5 ohm. as it is rated at 3500 @ .5. hell for 185 shipped ima try me the 5000. wish i had a oscope i could see what it does cleanly. i will clamp it when i get it though.

has anything changed since 2014? If nothing has changed, then it goes without saying that it is not worth spending money. Besides, speaking of money, I've recently decided to take an extra job alongside my main one. I was thinking so much what it would be and then I finally decided(having read yourmoneygeek.com) that taking online surveys for cash would be a nice option. Indeed it turned out to be a very nice opportunity to earn extra money))

Not really. The Q2200 is a great amp. I've had two at .25 ohm each before. Would I buy one now a days? Probably not when Taramps are my go to choice for much cheaper.

If SQ had another Black Friday sale on them, I’ll likely pick up one this year. They usually have an hour of 25% off amps. For some reason, I’m just not ready to go Brazilian

Bottom line is it worth it paying double for a Q2200 over a PPI 1800? is the difference REALLY that noticeable? and exactly what will i notice different?

they will be powering 1 Fi Q12 in a ported enclosure.
