Is my Sundown 1500dv2 fried?

I finally finished my install in my Tahoe. Yesterday I was setting the subsonic filter and the output reduced to almost nothing. This was at a very low volume. I adjusted the gain a little and everything seemed ok. Driving around yesterday I noticed that the subs would randomly get quiet. When I got home I put in test tone and grabbed the multimeter. Sure enough, for some reason the maximum amount of voltage I could get was around 42 volts. Then it would jump back up to over 100. This was the gain all the way up just to see what it was doing and no load obviously. So that ruled out the subs. I also took the rca's going to my front stage amp and tested it. Same result. And that was from the front outputs from the deck(with the crossover off to make sure I had a full signal). So that should have checked both the cable and the output from the deck. All power/ground wires seem secure. I have never had a problem with the amp until I adjusted the subsonic filter. Is it f**d?

Just for clarification, the reduction in output wasn't because I cranked up the subsonic filter. It happened literally when I touched it. And the voltage has been fluctuating between normal and massively reduced since. There were no sparks or smoke. No protection light came on, and the power light has functioned properly.

Well I put an alpine 9883 in that I had and the bass is kicking. Hopefully that was the problem. Bad news is that I lost all of my processing. I have an old audio control eqx I could install with it. There is no time alignment but it would give me a little eq at least. I don't have the cash for a new head so I guess I'll have to try it.
