This is a resonant engineering SX subwoofer that I purchased 2 years ago from a member here. I let my car sit for a week in boston while i traveled to texas, then when i got back last night, i was listening to music on the highway and the sub cut out maybe 15-20 minutes into the ride. Attached is what i saw when i pulled it out today.

That wire thing (voicecoil?) is broken on both positive sides. Can this be fixed? Like soldered or anything? Or will I have to send it in to RE or bring it to an audio shop to get it fixed? Any info is great, thanks

just buy more tinsel lead. at least 2 feet of it, and run a new line. contact FI for some tinsel lead. i'm not 100% on this but you could also ask other custom sub companies out there and see if they will sell you some. Fi is usually busy and it could take some time to get some from them.

then run a new line with the proper lenght needed. pretty sure that the damage already caused to the current leads they are now shorter than how it was when stock. so if you resoldered it back on it'll just snap off once it reaches the peak excursion limits that the shorter lead will allow.

first mission, get some new tinsel lead. then come back and we'll give you more info on how to fix it.

Alright thanks for the help guys. I'll try to find some tinsel lead and get back to you. If anyone reading this has some spare tinsel lead, let me know.
