Is my amp blown?

Well, I have JL Audio 500/1 Amp, running 2 10' subs.

The amp was working great, until it all of a sudden went kapoots on me, and stopped fully working. I got a wierd groggy bass coming from the subs when the beats hit...

Anyways, I checked all the wiring and volts and waht not, and no success. The subs work on another amp, but not this one.

So in my last attemp, I took this amp out, and took off the cover of it, to see if I could see anything...(what I am looking for I do not know.

Non the less, the thing has a faint smell of burnt electronics... which leads me to believe that I might have blown my amp..

My question for you is... if it is blown, what could have cause it? And also, since this is an 800$ amp, are there places that repair them? Or is it time for a new one?

If you blew a MOSFET, you should be able to tell. Inspect the PCB for burnt traces, blow resistors, bad components. Unless it really did go kaput out of the clear blue sky, there was something that caused the failure - try to pinpoint it.

Would it help if I took a bunch of pictures? I looked over, and cant seem to see anything out of place... nothing is blown up. I will snap some pics later tonight, and maybe someone can take a peek.

Thanks for the link.

No, that was one of the first things I checked. Like I said, the power is fine, I regrounded it, and reconnected all of the wires (at the amp and the hu)...

None of the warning lights came on.
