I picked up a clean *** zr240 for $20, because the kid couldnt hook it up right, I guess. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Prolly the second best deal on an amp I've gotten. Does the kx1200 have 2 kx600 boards?

I dont know i read so much neg about the 1200kx that i never bothered to look into much about it.

I plan on running an Eclipse CD8455 HU and some Seas Lotus Reference 2 ways up in front...and I plan on running an Active setup so I need to get a 4 channel Amp. Now the Reference series is 100 RMS and I would like to get a 100x4@4 ohms amp.
Kick has a 100x4 amp...exactly what i need...but i've always been taught and thought myself that Kicker was always ....eh....kind of not all that good.

what do you guys think about the kicker amps? Also, what it be good to run a kicker with an Eclipse HU and a set of the lotus reference speakers.
from the bottom of their line up to the top of the line....simply put...

Kicker car stereo amplifiers, subwoofers, and speakers are some of the best stuff you can buy. Daily driving and competing are 2 different things. Different amps do different things in different applications. But all around, for the money.

I don't see where you could ever go wrong using anything Kicker produces.

Is there a "better" choice out there...???...well that's up for discussion and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't think buying anything Kicker could ever be a bad choice.

I have messed with or helped build or heard SPL and daily set ups with KX1200's and all in my experience were 1400+ watts, some passed the 1500 mark, they do pull some serious current, but I think I have only been around one KX1200 failure but I believe it was user error

So what your saying Kicker is a brand highly regarded for SQ? Besides i did qualify my statement by saying that was just me.
I'm going to get 50 solid unclipped watts out of a sony amp, and I'm going to get 50 unclipped watts out of a Zapco... I'm going to hook them up A and B.

If you can tell the difference I'd be shocked.

Now, what would last longer is a completely different argument.

if this is true, have Scottie email me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

for example, 2004 and 2005 dbDrag world finals, there were several guys using Kicker amps, mostly KX1200's. 2004 did not replace or touch one amp the whole show, and a compeitor arc'd two in 2005, and we replaced, and no issues. Two years and none were toased by our error. Yes, each is tested, hence the birth sheets. But remeber, you put anything input higher than 16v, the amp will need to be modded. Chris Norris has what, 48 of them and has not hurt one to my knowledge....Carlton, you??

Absolutley not one problem with a blown amplifier. NONE of my amps have EVER had to be serviced or replaced by Kicker.

great news Carlton, thanks for the feedback //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
no problem, now just make the 2500 strappable or come out with a 5,000 watter and we'll be good.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
