Is it worth throwing this in my car or is it just plain crap?

I found a 12in sub and a sealed box in the attic at my parents house. I built the box years ago out of some left over MDF from a counter top because I didn't know what else to do with it. The sub came from a swap meet for 5 bucks.

Brand is ESA. Says nothing on the back except distributed by circuit city.

I had bought an ESA 2x55w amp for $15 shipped off ebay a number of years ago. Nothing special at all, but had no problems with it. Basically, if you don't want to buy a sub throw it in and try it out for a while.

old infinity knock off maybe....like many companies used to do with subs. audio shop i worked at in 94 had their own line of subs made by hollywood sound labs. they could just sell them for a lower price than the brand name.

if you just want a little bit of bump i say use it if not sell it local.

Looking at getting a 500W Rockford or Alpine amp so maybe I can have some fun with it for a few months until it pops and get the sub I really want!

Well I found this amp at a pawn shop today for 15 bucks and hooked it all up. This amp bangs the sub really hard and it doesn't sound half bad considering what it is. I am actually quite impressed TBH. Much better than I was expecting actually. I have the amp a little over 3/4 up and bridged and I have to leave the sub at -6 on my deck or the bass overpowers the speakers. Not distorting at all either.
