Is it smart to change Power acoustic/Boss amps for MTX amps when pursuing SQ?

Here's what I'm thinking, please tell me if I'm wrong. I'm planning to swap out my Power Acoustik 4 channel OV600 alleging 75 rms x 4 for an MTX Thunder 685 underrated at 60 rms x 4. I'm running Quart PCE 216s, and rear fill 5.25s.

I'm also swapping out my Boss RT345 for an MTX 311d to run the IDQ I asked about in another thread.

Total replacement cost without install for the new amps: $404 bucks.

OK, my gut says do it. Power Acoustik is generally inferior by a great amount to MTX.

I'm just kind of balking at the price. Any thoughts?

Swapping the PA for the MTX, I honestly think you won't notice a difference except for the crossovers. PA amps have very plain crossovers.

Swapping the Boss for the MTX is a different story, that MTX will mod the floor with the Boss amp in every category.
