Is it safe buying amps and sub off ebay?

Just a little off topic here, but my friend bought a sub off ebay and won the auction for $1.00 and paid $34.00 for shipping. So he got a sub that works for $35.00. It was a Bazooka sub but how do people find those deals? I search all the time and can't find anything like that, that will work.

stay away form seller 12volt, he sold me a broken viper d1200.1 and i sent it in under warranty, he said would take 4 weeks to fix, its been 14, and he finally offered me an amp worth 75$ more, for free 1600w, i guess i got good out of it, but hes a terrible seller.

You can find deals like that ALL OVER Ebay, but it's usually only for cheap brands like bazooka, Dual, Blaupunkt, etc.

yeah I hear you on that... it would only be cheap brands... but Bazooka is better than nothing. I would buy that just to keep around in case I blow a good sub in my car and need to throw something in... a $1.00 sub is always nice... How come I cant find them tho?

Just browse for all subwoofers, then sort by price.

Yeah, it would be cool to buy a sub for that much just to have something to mess around with.

So far all of my stuff for my car audio system has been bought off ebay. But I only have some things

My refurbished HU

and refurbished Amp

and $9 rear speakers.
