Is it possible?

I have a Jeep Cherokee Sport 01..

Running a 3000 Watt RMS System on a 160 Amp Alt Stock Battery and a Deka Battery in the back.. Lights dim.. Got a ****** Auto Zone Under The hood Battery..

Would it be possible to run my System without lights dimming by doing the big three, Stock Alternator and upgrade under the hood battery to a battery that can handle my system?

I'm going to do the big 3 and was wondering if I could replace my cheap under the hood auto zone battery for an XS d3100 and run my system without the extra battery.. I didn't know you had to charge the extra battery in the back often

Big 3 will help you out. But I would keep the rear battery running a 3k system. Even if you upgrade the front battery and do the big 3...keep the rear battery!

I have a small BT20 second battery and my charging system charges it just fine. I have Big 3, stock front battery, 0ga to second battery, and then 4ga from second battery to the amp. Although I'm not running 3k....currently at 800rms and will be tuning to 1k tomorrow. But my lights dont dim and voltage drop is very minimal.

1st definitely do your big 3, Then you could wire a capacitor up to your headlight circuit = no more dimming. You do NOT need a second alt for 3k
its not just dimming.. the voltage drops by .5 when I crank up my system.. and its annoying having to charge the battery constantly in the back

Your alt should have no trouble charging 2 batts when your vehicle is running if you have everything wired correctly - .5 drop, lol that's nothing for 3k

If you have everything wired correctly - YES your alt should charge both batteries whenever your vehicle is running, obviously it's not going to peak charge it to it's full capacity, but I just can't see how this is an issue with a single Crunch GP3K ???

No matter WHAT you do your lights are still going to dim... Headlights are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations - Some more-so in some vehicles than others, and when you start cranking on your stereo system, your voltage is going to fluctuate... Do your big 3, upgrade your batt under the hood & get an HO alt, this WILL HELP... But odds are your headlights will STILL DIM with your amp & sub doing work, unless you wire up a capacitor to your headlight circuit to keep the voltage they see from fluctuating...
