I cant decide weather i want to go for performance, haveing a 92 with haveing a 92 camaro, or going with audio.

I already have all the stuff listed installed, and was thinking about getting into performance a little further then i already did. The car performance sites that i frequent are pretty much set on the mindset of you either have to have car audio, or performance, you cant have them both. The main reason i see for this is the weight of a sub, and a box in the back, i cant see any other reasons but thats just me.

I cant really pick right now witch i want, and i was just wondering if this is all a myth, that a sub and box are so heavy it would drasticly decrease the time of a quarter mile, etc... I know every pound counts on the track but ****

Yes you can have both worlds. Just need to make more power for the power being lost from weight. My bro has a mustang with 2 12 audiobahns(yea i know :/) but he runs mid 12's. Of course its possible....

You can have both...if you are that concerned about losing performance because of the weight of your audio equipment, make it so that it is easily removed. That way, if you want to take it out to run your car you can, and it wont be hard to put it back in...

Yes it's possible. Fiberglass, small drivers, low power. Weight is what kills, 100lbs = 0.1 in the 1/4, generally. If you care about the 1/4, that is. A 5 channel amp, some glass and some carefully decided on drivers and you're set with a fairly high fidelity system with an overall weight of less than 50lbs. The one thing you'll have to overcome is the noise floor that is synonymous with higher performance. i.e. exhaust. Spray on deadening tends to be rather light compared to the mass loading counterparts of mat.
