Is it my Amp or my DMM??

Pretty sure you need to have it set to VDC. I'm guessing that means Voltage of Direct Current. If this is true, VAC would be Voltage of Alternating Current, and in Car audio - the electrical is generally all Direct Current, not Alternating.

That didnt work it was at a steady 0.00 the entire time.. with VaC i get a reading maxed at 57.2

I know I'm new here, but if I am reading this post correctly, you are trying to read dc voltage on the speaker output? Not sure of the output there, but I do know that the rca imput is very low voltage, so I would assume output voltage would be low aswell but idrk and I always assumed the power put out was more of an amperage than volts. Thats got me curious so I'm gonna go check mine. Sorry to jump in with little help, but how much voltage you looking to see?

Russ

Well according the charts i need 69.28...

What Power do you think that amp puts out? 69.28v @ 1 ohm = about 4800watts of output. You need to be setting your gain for about 900w which is what that little guy you've got will cleanly put out. You need to be setting your gain at about 30v. I'm not sure what chart you're looking at but it's not correct. If you want a calculator to help you figure it out go here: http://ecrack.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=995&pid=1260&st=0entry1260

Also, music is AC. It is not DC so disregard all previous posts which tell you to set your dmm to DC.

ok even that calculator on that forum says 60 Volts for 900 rms.... unless theres a part of the equation im forgetting???
If you're at 1 ohm it says 30 volts... wtf.

If you're at 4 ohms and 900 watts it says 60 volts. You stated in the first post you're wired at 1 ohm... so you need 30 volts. This isn't that hard.

Like I said, I wasn't sure. Thanks for the clarification though, I don't mind being wrong.
