It "might" get to the point were the person selling will have to ship first, but then buyers will probably become the scammers...

Once I have a buyer for sure I don't hesitate to give out my home & work phone numbers and encourage them to call me, so they at least can tell I'm not some douche bag kid.

Maybe we need a sticky or an update of the stickies sayin always use a credit card when doin paypal. (should just be common sense)

Paypal is a bunch of ******* when it comes to actually working a claim the right way. They take forever, your money is long gone, and they recover you a whole 53 cents.

With a CC you can just do a chargeback and paypal gets stuck in the negative. Maybe if that happens enough they will actually get offa their *** and try to do something about scammers.

It would be a good idea, if you plan on making a significant amount of purchases online, to contact your bank/CC company and see what kind of buyer protection they offer.

i have been here a while it honestly doesnt look more prevelant now then it ever did that there are scammers here.

Personally, I just don't buy from people if they aren't active on the forum.
I'd rather miss out on a good deal 100 times than get scammed once.

U got lucky. Alot of the times Pay pal will do as little as possible to help people.

right now I have contacted my bank and they are dealing with paypal. They put the moeny into my account but it is just temporary untill they recover the funds. Its a pain but will be worth it. Hopefully everything works out with that. I think i got lucky with the rep I got, he was pretty cool, told me that they cant directly tell you this but if you go through your bank than they make paypal pay the bank who pays you. I do not have a credit card since I just turned 18 so my paypal is linked to my debit card.

Yup, my dad got taken for 2200 bucks by a scammer (obvious scam too but my dad is dumb) Dood at paypal advised him to contact his bank, he got his money back and paypal was out 2200 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

True, money xfer from them to your bank acct takes 3 days my ***, yet they can take it outta my account in 2 seconds.

If you put all the money people xfer through paypal in an interest bearing account for 3 days, how much money you think that adds up to...

oh yeah, add 3% of everything to that

ive sold an entire system on here and bought an entire system off here in the last year with no problems at all. i got a little nervous sending a bank check for 550 bucks to someone in cali but before the transaction he gave me his cell, talked to me, took every pic i asked for of the amps and stayed in constant contact with me while waiting for the amps to come...

theres always a risk when you arent dealing face to face. spending only 550 bucks on 2 amps that would of cost near 1200 brand new was worth the risk to me.

so i joined last month (actually less than 2 weeks ago) and have a few posts. no refs yet. i want to say here with all you folk looking. I AM NOT A SCAMMER. of course that doesnt make you believe me, but it makes me feel better. i may have lost a deal on an amp because of the fact that i have no refs.it's understandable to me why it would happen like that. i am a member of TCCOA and on that forum you have to have been a member for 30days and have "x" amount of posts before you can do anything other than read the classifieds.
