Is 4awg good enough?

I've got a Stinger 220amp H/O alt up front (and got the big three covered )with 4awg running from the front battery to the rear battery, stinger SPV44, and then about 3ft of 4awg from the SPV44 to my Kicker SX1250.1 (which according to the birthsheet puts out 1410watts) wired in at 1ohm pushing 2 Polk SR124-DVC subs. Is 4awg good enough and allowing me to get maximum performance from my amp? I've had several ppl tell me I'm good but then I read in the manual for the SX1250.1 that kicker recommended 2awg. I think I'm good, but just wanted to make sure.

I wouldnt, but thats just me, for a long run between 2 batteries and HO alt, I wouldnt run any smaller than 2. It may not hurt, but you might make the amp work a little harder than it wants, and you are tring to charge the rear battery over a long run, and thats not as effective.

You're probably fine for the run to the amp, but I would replace the run to your rear battery with at least 2 gauge as bigbirney recommended. Here's a link for recommended cable sizes. While each cable is different, 4 gauge has a capacity of about 150 amps.
