I'd assume 1 run of 1/0 per 200-250 amps of draw is optimal

It doesn't really give more power, it just reduces resistance. A single run of 1/0 is adequate for pretty much every daily system. Once you start getting into setups have have high current demands, that's when need to look into multiple runs.

more runs of 0awg reduce voltage drop and increase the power your amp is capable of receiving. Probably wont notice giant gains(maybe) but at least 2 runs wouldn't hurt for that system.

The vlx-400 will pull over 400 amps. Multiple runs will deffinately help.

you gonna need a bigger alt to run a consistent 400 ampres of current even with a 2400.

THe wire just helps you get the power to the amp from the alt and frotn battery.

Watch your voltage though even with a battery bank 400 ampres is like 3-6 times the output of a stock alt.
