Ipod noob...need help!

I just purchased a used 30gb video ipod. I have not got a chance to try it out yet because I had to order the usb cord. what else will I need to be able to tranfer my music on to it?

Is there a program or driver that I will need? People keep telling me I need to use itunes which I'm not fimilar with. I already have 15 gigs of music on my harddrive and just want to move it to the ipod. Can some ipod experts break it down for me. I plan to hook it up to my alpine iva w200.

your ipod should have come with a cord and a cd

install itunes from the cd, or download it and install it

plug in the cord to a usb slot

plug the other end of hte cord into the ipod

open itunes

load your music folder to itunes library

drag songs from the library onto the ipod icon

disconnect ipod

run off and rock out

Itunes is a free download from www.apple.com

It is very easy once you DL it. Just get the cord and drag the song you want into the ipod image.

you should have the cord with it. now they come with a usb. the old ones only came with firewire, which i dont think they support those anymore.
