the focus their attention on one thing and they are good at it. i think people feel that they get a better product from a company when they specialize in that one product only. it may not be true that they are only good at one thing, but if they are doing good financially and they have a good rep, they dont want to ruin it by making something else that wont absolutly dominate the market.

i think its a good question, mabye there isn't enough money in the HU and alpine already own them

Because it would take a ton of money to start up a division to research and build headunits and they would rather keep turning a profit in the catagories they already know

JL focuses on subs and amps.... Hell, I wouldn't want a JL h/u.... the base model with one 2v preout and a 40x4 amp would cost $800 because they have some crazy patent with the CD mechansm or something.

As they do with their Clean Sweep.....
