iPhone X Mic VS AudioControl SA-4100i For 10 Band EQ?

The AudioControl Mic is plug and play with the iPhone but is it appreciably flatter than the iPhone X built in mic? Is the iPhone X good enough to use to tune a 10 band EQ to get into a more or less correct ballpark? If not, will the AudioControl mic do the trick?
