8's sound good in enclosures from .7 - 1cubic ft tuned from 33-40Hz

10's sound good in 1-1.5 cubic ft tuned from 32-35Hz

They will not work in sealed enclosures, or 4th order BP, Ported and 6th order only for decent sounding applications.

Any member that has one of these subs; feel free to let everyone know what they are missing. Thanks;)

Shouts out to Audio_phil for the "accurate" specs

Sweet. Would I be able to find rubber gaskets for them? Not a super big deal, but it would be a nice cosmetic touch imo...

Gaskets from Mach 5 IXL 10.2.2's fit perfectly. (they use the same frame) and I think Mach5 Audio will sale/send them to ya from what I hear. I've always been an infostructure guy, I remove every gasket I can, lol. I like seeing raw frame, it shows all parts are nice enough that nothing needs to be aesthetically hidden!

The white dustcap is my favorite, followed by the black w white logo. I strongly dislike the red logo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want to see some of these suckers in person. Good to know that gaskets can be found too...

I've always been interested in TB
What would you rec. with a Stetsom 4K2D as a power plant

for daily listening and bassrace in an ext. cab sonoma
Depending on your voltage and or final load your wanting to use, I'd have to say 6 TB Ultra 10's in 7.5 Cubes net @ 35Hz, should give ample output near cabin resonance, I'm a MECA guy, if bass-race is sealed up, I'd recommend a dual port system capable of being instantly retuned by plugging/unplugging a port or making modular ports that can be swapped in and out to change freq to get it closer to cabin reson.ance. should break a 150 pretty easy with 6 of them properly tuned and enclosed with an amp that size, if your voltage is closer to 14V then I'd consider 8 of the 10's or 12 8's. Team XFL does 147.6 in an expedition with 12 8's on 3K rms, so higher tuned for the truch cab should yield a 150 with little fuss with that Stetsom.

I pulled the gasket off my Mach 5 for ya an example, and I must say, it is a lil sexier, the electric blue logo looks nice too though.

Holes Line up perfect, but same frame so they kinda have too, lol

This is the first white cone made since the retiring of them on the previous generations, thanks to me guys, they are back and nicer than ever, lol. This is with my cell phone, sept 08,

Did the 141dB with this one, I had 2 so I killed it at the show to see how much it would take, took everything the XX Zeus had @ 1 ohm for over 2 minutes before the coil came unglued. Let me tell ya, TB uses glue that stinks worse than anything I have ever smelled (not kidding) once it gets hot enough to give up the ghost.

The gasket makes the sub look much, much cleaner in my opinion. I think it should be standard equipment...

I will be running a pair of these by the end of the month. They won't fit in the Dakota, but the Magnum needs sound too.

I managed to fit one of these in a Toyota P/U, single cab, 94 Model. Enclosure was (externally) 3.5 at the top, 6.5 at the bottom, and 44.5 Wide. The sub was mounted inversely between the seats and the frame was just over the arm rest, surely at least one would fit in a Dakota? lol Mounting depth is only about 5.5" if memory serves!

Well, there's no room behind or under the rear seats of the Dakota. If anything, it would have to go into a rear console enclosure. I suppose I could squeeze 1 8" in a ported enclosure back there, but it'll be tight. That's why I was looking into the Sundown E8. They require less than .3 cu ft sealed. I've tried fiberglassing, and I absolutely **** at it, so that's out of the question.

But nearly anything could be done if the job is thoroughly thought out...

true true, But I have heard tell of the E8 being a mid Q driver with an EBP over 60, which means though it will function in a small enclosure, the 3dB down response of the enclosure will be substantially higher than Fs so no low end at all. Or in other word, sound like a** if your wanting a flat response daily driver. Also, it's super low Vas and Hig Qes cause it to be extremely inefficient. A phenominal small sealed enclosure sub is the old elemental designs 110.v2, it really would play in .35 cubes, sounded better the bigger it got, but it was very listenable as small as .4. Another good option for small sealed would be the older infinity kappa 10.1se, sounded good as small as .3 and got way lower than it shoulda in an enclosure that small. Alot the CSS stuff and most of the DIY Cable(remainder of real Adire Audio) stuff works great in small sealed. For small sealed you need very Low Fs, Low Qts (.4 or less) and an ebp below 50.

I've already decided to run one of these TB subs instead. Just gotta find a way to get one of them in there. I know I can do it, but it's going to take some thinking. I'm 6-4", so I can't lose legroom. It's not going to be cut & dry. I can't believe I'm going to go through all of this trouble for a single 8".//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And for something that'll only be used for several months. The rear seats are coming out in favor of a pair of 18"s at the beginning of the year. I want to do something with this truck, and in order to do that, the seats gotta go. If I'm losing the seats, might as well go big. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looked at the listed parameters for the E8 and I was right, an F3 of 51Hz in .3 sealed so at that point it turns into a beefy midbass. 79.64dB 1w/1m as well so 102dB before cabin gain (after adding gain from rms power) (usually about 10dB in a truck so it wouldnt even keep up with your full range, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif... A passive radiator system might be the way to go there. Passives are pretty simple, you just calculate the enclosure like a vented box, then measure volume of air needed to tune to the desired tuning freq, then calculate the weight of that air and that needs to be the mass of the passive radiator. Also, its important to always use PR's with the ability to displace far more air than the active driver so 1 8" woofer may need a 12" passive or 2 10" passives to keep the passives from reaching Xmech.

More pics of TB Ultra 10's

3" 4 Layer coil... Yest that Tinsel is broken, A friend was trying to run a balanced differential signal straight through an amp and voila, with no normal sine-wave for the amp the power was coming out as some-kind of weird sawtooth style wave with no negitive side so midpoint or "rest point" became rearward negitve stroke stopping point and eventually it drove forward so far that something had to give. James is gonna rebuild it, all my friend has to do is cover shipping. I was not there, did not witness it in person, I personally have not been able to injure one of these beasts, but I also know enough not to have let it happen, lol.
