internet problems..

well disconnected and reconnected the router and that didn't do anything. i'm plugged in directly to the modem now and it seems fine. my other computer didn't work though. so could there be some virus on that computer that is ****ing up both?

how many firewalls are you running? router, zone alarm, windows? just curious

can you go into internet tools and set it all back to default? maybe some security settings got changed

i use IE, not FF so idunno

just one firewall. windows firewall is disabled and there is no firewall setup on the router

Lately I've been getting that alot with FF too. Opera and IE work fine though.

i keep getting this crap that says "problem loading page" with firefox. i downloaded opera and get the same thing. is this something i have to talk with my isp about? this is about the only site i can go to without problems.
btw throwing the mouse across the room didn't fix it either

it was a post in this thread that gave me the idea to try to connect straight to the modem, but i'll consider your helpful enlightenment as well

I would try changing dns servers. http://www.opendns.com ftw

are you connected through wireless? mine ****s up all the time and i just go into connections and click the repair which shuts off my wireless and reconnects it

then its fine for a while. happens alot during the pornage.

linksys wireless g with that speedbooster garbage

no i havent, restarting the wireless takes about 12 seconds to do and i dont have to get up and walk to the other end of the house where the router is
