Interesting problem w/ my Interfire IFB-15D 15" subs.

A friend of mine helped me add a second baffle to my box that I previously built for two IFB-15D's ( Dual 4OHM // 600 RMS 15" ) today. Coupled with an MTX 81001, I have them wired to one ohm. Although the amp does 1500RMS to one channel, I have the gains set with a DMM and have a firm understanding of what clipping sounds like so I wasn't too worried about that. However, today after I put the subs in the box and let them play ( like normal! ) one of the subs sounds like a person is flicking the cone when it hits ( I don't know the exact term? ). I pulled the sub and checked the voice coil and nothing is burnt on either sub and the suspension still feels firm so that rules out the spider. One thing I did notice is that the problem only happens after a short time of playing. When I pulled the sub after about 10 minutes of good playing, the motor is extremely warm. What came to mind was when we put the subs into the car I noticed some leftover saw dust in the port. Didn't think anything of it, so I let them play. After a song or two we noticed a loud pop comes from the subs. Just once, and I thought it was a freak accident or something and also didn't think anything of that!

So, pulled the subs and everything appears to be in great condition! Could the dust gotten inside the motor and is heating it quicker than normal? Any ideas? ( Plus, the voltage drops to around 12-13v around hard hits so I also doubt the subs ever see the true 1500RMS)
